The Diary of Sol Abednego

Translator's note -

Dear reader I hope this work, which I have been given the honour to translating, brings you the enlightenment it did for me.

That I discovered whilst I was research the history of my people with my Lord's library. Sol Abednego appears to be something a maverick scholar as there seems to have been an attempt to expunge him from the historical record. I must admit to feeling a certain kinship with him.

One of my associates informed me that the use of what is referred to as none traditional means would be an efficient method of for filling my lord purpose of enlightening as many as possible. Hence why I have established this Web Log, or blog, As this an on going project there may be unforeseen delays but I will endeavour to maintain a weekly scheduled.

Before we continue dear reader there are some points I must make about this translation. First is the matter of the dates of the entries. Though I have managed to discern a fair amount about the calendar used at the time; it is not enough to be of use. I have resorted to denoting the days in terms of the passage of time from the start of the expedition.

Secondly whilst I have endeavoured to be accurate to Sol Abednego's intent this has at times been beyond my talents so I have resorted to providing a literal translation. Finally I have, were it has seemed prudent, added explanatory notes and contextual clarifications to the text; all such additions shall, like this introduction, be italicised.

Now without any further prevarication it is my pleasure to present the field journal of Sol Abednego's final expedition.
